How to Make Productive Corporate Travel
Corporate travel management company (TMC), BCD Travel, says companies should consider how they can make their staff productive while waiting in airports for flights.
In its 2008 Industry Forecast for Business Travel, corporate travel agency, BCD Travel, said corporate travellers would continue to experience significant frustration over extended flight times, flight cancellations and long lines at airport security check points.
Among the business travel company’s recommendations is scheduling major conferences and incentives during off-peak seasons in the markets you are travelling to. For example, corporate travel between the Asia Pacific and US West Coast is often easier in summer than corporate travel between the Asia Pacific and US Midwest, as less people travel to the West Coast at this time, resulting in fewer flight delays.
When staff are stuck in airports due to flight delays or cancellations, they are often left to wile the hours away in an airport bar or lounge.
BCD Travel, a leading global corporate travel management company, recommends that companies arm their staff with wireless broadband laptops and mobile phones with global roaming capability so they can work productively during flight delays, which can sometimes amount to hours.
