New Security Measures to impact corporate Travel
Australian airports will trial a controversial new security measure that enables special full-body scanners to create life-like images of people’s bodies to check for concealed weapons.
If implemented fully, it would mean that all Australian travellers, including corporate travel guests, face possible random selection for a scan.
It follows a similar trial in the US earlier this year, where debate raged over the pros and cons of the new technology. Some travellers were enthusiastic and keen to embrace any measure to heighten security on planes and in airports. However, other travellers said they felt violated and agreed with civil libertarians that the exact images of people’s bodies generated by the scanners were an invasion of privacy.
We are constantly keeping track of developments in airport security and can answer any questions you might have.
