Transformation of British Airways Ground Experience at London Heathrow
On March 27th 2008, the transformation of the British Airways ground experience at London Heathrow will begin. The key parts of this transformation are the movement of over 90% of British Airways services to our new, exclusive to British Airways, London Heathrow Terminal 5, and the renovation of London Heathrow Terminal 3.
Over the period of the transformation, British Airways services to and from Sydney, Singapore and Bangkok will remain at London Heathrow Terminal 4, along with all Qantas operated services before moving to Terminal 3, our new Australasian oneworld hub in early 2009.

Arriving at Terminal 4
Eligible customers will continue to benefit from the Fast Track arrivals facility to speed them through immigration and also have continued use of the British Airways Arrivals Lounge, where they can relax, work, enjoy a shower or have breakfast.
Transferring to another British Airways service at London Heathrow
For customers transferring to another British Airways service at London Heathrow, simply follow the signs to Flight Connections from where you can catch the frequent buses to terminals 1,2,3 and 5.
Travelling to central London
Travelling time by public transportation into central London will continue to be quick and easy, with a range of options. There is a choice of regular transportation direct to central London using either the London Underground Piccadilly Line, or Heathrow Connect. Additionally your travellers can use the Heathrow Connect to ‘Terminals 123’ and then transfer to the Heathrow Express which will take them to central London in 15 minutes.
Departing from Terminal 4
Check in
For British Airways operated services, the best way to check-in is to do so online at ba.com. This allows the traveller to choose from the widest possible choice of seats, and also bypass check-in queues at the airport. There are three easy steps;
- Check-in online at ba.com from 24 hours before departure.
- Print boarding pass from office or home.
- Take bags to the Fast Bag drop at the airport.
For Qantas operated services, simply go to the Qantas branded check-in desks on the departures concourse.
Lounges
Eligible passengers can use the British Airways Terraces lounges at Gate 1 which is being upgraded. There will be two lounges, one for First customers and Gold Executive Club members, and a separate lounge for Club World customers, and Silver Executive Club members.

PASSENGERS TRANSFERRING TO SERVICES TO AND FROM TERMINAL 5
Many of you will experience Terminal 5 when they transfer onto flights on the rest of the British Airways network. Terminal 5 will be a revolutionary airport experience. Starting with the design, the latest technological advances and a logical layout have been incorporated to make the journey as calm as it can be. All the details can be found at our specially created website, www.terminal5.ba.com , but I would like to highlight a few key areas of major improvement.
Lounges
Whether departing or arriving, Galleries lounges provide a welcome sanctuary. With stone fireplaces, complimentary champagne bars, private cabanas, exclusive spa treatments and first class dining, they offer a luxurious and comfortable place to relax. There are also work and entertainment zones with internet access.
Baggage system
Using the latest technology, luggage at Terminal 5 is constantly monitored so that it arrives at the carousel as quickly as the first customers.
Transfers
Due to intelligent design, connecting through Terminal 5 is simple, fast and straightforward. With Flight Connections situated in the main arrivals concourse, improved immigration and security processes and an advanced baggage system it’s an altogether stress-free process. Frequent buses to terminals 1,2,3 and 4 will be available from the Flight Connections Centre.
